Dr Eram S. Rao is the Vice Principal of Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, University of Delhi. She is an Associate Professor and Head of Department of Food Technology with more than 25 years of teaching and research experience and is the author of several textbooks on Food Science, Food Quality Analysis, Food Quality Evaluation etc. and has also coauthored several FSSAI books and training manuals. She is the recipient of the “Eat Right Award” – a prestigious National award by FSSAI in the ‘Professional Category’. Besides, she is also a technical expert with World Bank on reduction of trans fat and sodium in foods in India. Has been the Lead Expert and Sr. Nutrition consultant with European Union- on Food Safety and Nutrition Awareness Raising – A Capacity Building Initiative for Trade and Development in India. She is an empaneled expert at Food Safety and Standards Authority of India for Content Development, Training and Capacity Building Initiatives for Safe and Nutritious Food for School children and has trained more than 500 master trainers across India.

Presently, she is a National level Resource Person for imparting training to Food Safety officers and Adjucating officers and is also a FoSTAC trainer at FSSAI. She is also on the Advisory Board of FICCI at the Centre for Nutrition Excellence, steering committee member for National Mission on Surakshit Khadiya Abhyaan, Confederation of Indian Industries. She has been a Technical Expert and Head of Task Force for Curriculum development for (B. Tech and M. Tech) courses for National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) Kundli, Haryana, an apex Institute of Excellence under the aegis of MoFPI, GOI. She has been instrumental in establishing the Institute. Besides, she is on Board of Studies of several central Universities and facilitated in the establishment of B. Tech and M. Tech courses in Food Science and Technology. She is an executive member of NETPROFAN and the Immediate Past President of Association of Food Scientists and Technologists of India, Delhi Chapter.
